To Locate Our Application go to http://rescue.fluffydog.net/how-to-adopt.html MY AGE: approx. 2 years (1/17/21) WEIGHT: approx. 50 lbs. MY STORY: Im so proud of this girl. She has really come out of her shell and is ready to see what home life will be like. She is so affectionate. Not the shy girl that came to us. Yes, things are still scary, but she goes out for walks twice a day and does great. For sure she is at least 3/4 poodle with her tight curls. Such a pretty girl. I cant wait to see her blossom even more as she finds her new family. Dallas came to us from an Amish farm. She is learning what life is like away from there. I would say she has never lived in a home and she is shy. We encourage you to read the information on puppy mill dogs on our Resources page. She will need another dog in the home to model after and a minimum 6 ft. fence that can not be climbed. 11/28 Dallas was surrendered to us today after being adopted two months ago. The woman contacted us at noon and wanted us to take her immediately. She was pooping in her crate and in the home. In reading her surrender profile to glean more information on her life in her first two months after being adopted, this is what I have seen. She does not like to be kenneled. I assume thats a crate. Yes, for a dog that has never been crated this can be difficult. There is a great book called Crate Games that can help with this. Also, taking the dog out for an hour of "sniffing exercise" before crating is helpful. Let me be clear, this is a process. Most mill dogs are not for someone that works full time, and she is showing that. She is listed as friendly, quiet, shy, scared, protective, withdrawn, and barks. Also, digs holes. I believe this to be true. It is very much what we tell people are the article above describes breeder dogs as. There is also the 3-3-3 rule of rescue dogs. You can look this up. Quadruple or more this for a mill dog. It will take months and years and you still might not have a "normal" dog. These are special dogs for special people. In seventeen years weve see dozens of them. You are either all in or not. Yes, its work, but so worth it. Dogs needing foster homes are available for adoption This dog does need a foster home. Have you ever considered fostering a dog? For more information, see the Fluffy dog rescue home page. ADOPTION FEE: $750 To adopt the FIRST STEP is to complete an APPLICATION. Adopters must be 24 years of age. We can not adopt to families with children under the age of six. We also only adopt in WI, IL, and parts of MN. Most of our dogs are strays, so the breed is our best guess. WI License #270548. Check out Fluffy Dog Wellness on our Home Page. Great Solutions to Enhance Your Pets Health. www.fluffydog.net
