PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION IN THE DOGS PROFILE, AS WELL AS THE INFORMATION ON OUR WEBSITE BEFORE EMAILING US WITH QUESTIONS. Our Volunteers use up valuable time answering questions, when the answers are readily available on our website. We are a foster-based rescue. We do not have a facility. MEET & GREETS FOR DOGS IN ONTARIO WILL ONLY BE ARRANGED ONCE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION IS APPROVED. THANK YOU!!! Please visit our website for more information: https://www.niagaradogrescue.com/ or fill in our adoption application: https://niagaradogrescue.com/adoption-application.php OUT-OF-TOWN Dogs with NDR refer to dogs we have saved that have yet to make their journey to Ontario. These dogs are currently in our care with the help of our partners in the area. These dogs will all travel to the Niagara Region once an appropriate adopter or local foster is found. This dog is currently located in: Texas Name: Ember (20230616-01) Weight: 85 lbs Age: 3yrs DOB: 1/20/20 Gender: female Spayed/Neutered: yes Breed: black mouth cur mix Colour: red Neck size (for collar): 21in Chest circumference (for harness): Height (from top of head): 30in Length (from nose to base of tail): 41 in Crate size recommended: 48 in Good with adults: yes Good with kids: yes Good with other dogs: yes Good with cats: not sure House trained: yes Crate trained: yes but she’s only crated when in the car travelling. She is so good in the house that she is not crated. Energy level: very calm Can be handled/touched: yes Barker: not much Flight risk: No Food aggressive: all are fed separately Current food: Retriever high-pro mixed with Diamond beef How much: 4 1/2 cups per day How often: 1x per day Walks on leash: she acts afraid of the leash but once it’s on she walks great. Doesn’t pull Rides well in car: rides great in the crate but would probably ride well without it too. Destructive: No Needs a home with a yard: preferred Needs a home with another dog: she loves to play with her 1 year old friend but she also does well alone. He does bring out more of her personality when they are playing. Can live in an apartment: no. Foster insights/backstory: Ember was found as a pregnant stray. The finder did find homes for all her puppies but kept Ember in a 10x10 outdoor kennel by herself for quite a while. She is now so very happy to be living inside and is very well behaved. Ember is very shy at first. She has a very calm, sweet personality. She does get nervous when some of the other foster dogs bark at her but she’s only barked back a few times…usually she just runs past them. Her best friend is a 1yr old male that she plays very well with. She would make a great inside couch pup but I think she can adjust to any lifestyle. She is so very loving and gentle!
