Meet Pumpkin Winter- a 5 1/2 year old, 14 pound, Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix gal.

Pumpkin Winter is a local surrender due to a life circumstance change and her family can no longer keep her - but she was a very well loved dog!

Pumpkin Winter is a happy, serious girl who is incredibly devoted to her people.  She loves to go for long walks (or car rides) and then come home and cuddle with her humans.  She really hopes for another home where her people are around a lot to be with her.  Her mom said she is so smart and sweet it was like she always knew if you were unhappy and gave out extra cuddles when needed.  And she loves belly rubs so she gets lots of those in return.

Pumpkin Winter does not like other dogs so would need to be your one and only and would not be a good candidate for doggie daycare.  She is very well behaved and knows sit, leave it, and absolutely knows not to chew on things that arent hers.  She is crate trained though she is trustworthy outside her crate.  She is housebroken but does go to the bathroom on a more frequent schedule.  

Pumpkin would ideally do better in a quieter home without young children.  Calm teens and adults would be best for her.

She is sweet and loving and for the right pet-free household is going to bring a lot of love to your life!

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption.  All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
