Butter is a sweet, loving pug/dachshund mix who is roughly 6.5 years old and 23 lbs. She enjoys cuddling and receiving lots of pets. She is a low energy dog and prefers to stay indoors. She is quick to do her business outside and come right back in. Loves to be close to her human companion but also will stay quietly in her kennel. Often goes to her kennel for comfort. Will stay the night in her kennel with door open and not leave it. Butter was a stray that has been with her family for a few years but was recently surrendered to KDR because she was poked at and thrown rocks at by a neighbor child. Consequently, she does not like fast movement and is easily startled. She leery of strangers and is fearful in general. Since being at the home of her foster, she has met several people and is beginning to socialize, building her trust and confidence back. She is house broken and will let you know when she needs to go outside. Walks well on a leash and is obedient with commands. She is a polite begger and doesn’t get grabbie. Sits and waits patiently but definitely expects something. Not excessively barky. Our rescue organization only adopts within 3 hour radius from Georgetown, KY and a fully fenced yard is required (no underground fencing) All our dogs are spayed/neutered and have been fully vetted and current on vaccinations.
