Description:
Our girl Birdie is one shy gal. Rightfully so! She has been a proud mama, was successfully living on the streets, had her spay surgery, and is living the best life in an awesome foster home awaiting the call of a potential furrever home! People have not been in Birdies life until she found her way to AWD, atleast not kindly. So we are teaching her that we are here for all positive reasons! Food, love, kindness, positive consenting touch...all on her terms! Do you have the time and patience to work with Birdie on showing her what home life is all about! Are you looking for a girl who has had it rough but deserves to be spoiled! Birdie is your girl! Birdies current foster says She is a delightful cat! She purrs like crazy whenever her foster mom is around, and loves to be petted. One important note is that she does not like hands coming at her from the front or overhead, so always pet her from behind her head and down her back. She is very much into affection!! At the same time, if youre busy, shes quite independent and will nap until you are ready to give her all of your affections. She is pretty easygoing that way. Birdie gets along with cats and would probably be okay with proper introductions to quiet and respectful dogs and/or older children as well. She is sensitive to noise and likes a quiet environment. She should definitely have a safe room always available, for rest and security. It will probably take her a little time to become comfortable in a new home, so be very patient and youll find it is all worthwhile! She may start off slow and steady, a bit reserved, but we KNOW she is ready to be loved! We are working with her now to help her become her best self for adoption! Reach out to AWDFOSTER@CABQ.GOV to get approved by the foster team to meet Birdie!
