Gorgeous, Independent, Petite Lilymay is good company! She has a calm disposition about her, her favorite hobbies include snuggling and relaxing! he absolutely LOVES head scratches, treats, and lounging in any patch of sunshine she can find! (Bonus points if her favorite soft bed is in the sunny spot.) Right now her favorite toy is her crinkly tunnel, and its even more fun when someone wants to play in it with her. LilyMay is an absolute cuddlebug with other cats! She was so comfy with her roommates at the shelter that she let them groom her! She loves her kitty friends and when she moved into her foster home, she was super eager to meet them from day one - they can always be found hanging out together playing, napping, or all waiting at the door to greet the human coming home from work! She is definitely hoping her forever home has other friendly kitties. She prefers having humans go slow and be patient, but has been brave and inquisitive as shes gotten comfortable in her foster home. She likes it when you talk softly to her like a baby. She loves to be involved with whatever youre doing, and will follow you around the house to help supervise. Especially if youre cooking or eating - then shell break out her best begging eyes in hopes of getting a bite! Shes super chatty, too, and will happily squeak all of her thoughts and opinions if you talk to her. Shes not 100% sold on cuddling in laps yet, but shes a big fan of getting pets and scritches while she sits next to you. Recently, shes also decided to try out her bug-catching abilities -- theres some room for improvement, as she just ended up trying to stare down the critter while it sat on her nose. She thinks its probably best to stick to her squeaky cricket toy instead - that one doesnt run away from her! This tiny tortie has had a tough start to life but has proven herself to be strong and resilient. We are not sure what happened to her, but she came to us unable to use her back legs. Our vets looked LilyMay over and found that she has a bb pellet lodged next to her spine. They also found out she was pregnant. Cats with hindlimb paresis are often incontinent as well since these issues are usually caused by damage to nerves in the lower part of the spine. LilyMay is urinary incontinent so she needs help to pee 2-3 times a day. This is an easy task once you learn how to do it and our clinic is here to help you until you feel completely comfortable with it. Caring for an incontinent cat is easier than you may think. Want proof? Check out this video: bit.ly/CatExpressionDemo LilyMay had her litter of kittens soon after we took her in, and they were quickly adopted. Now, LilyMay is looking for a family of her own! LilyMays ideal home would be one where she has at least one feline furry friend to keep her company and people who will take their time with her to earn her trust and help her to feel safe. She is a sweet-natured cat with good vibes, ready to move into your home! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet LilyMay, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.
