This lovely 3-year-old torbie girl is Ginger. After being rescued down in southern Illinois, enduring the long transport north, and living in a foster home for a bit, she is now ready to settle down in her forever home.

Ginger is a curious cat that is always interested in what is going on around her. She is looking for a cat savvy adopter that that will respect her wishes and accept her independent nature.

Ginger is a very outgoing and friendly cat that simply knows what she wants and likes and will let you know when she is ready for pets and attention. She can be picked up, but it is not her favorite activity. If you put her in your lap, she will often settle in for pets, however. She enjoys pets on her head and back and sometimes tolerates pets on her sides. She does not like pets on her belly in the area that was shaved for her spay surgery - we are hopeful that once her fur grows back she wont mind.

Ginger lives with another young cat in her foster home - she has accepted him after some time. We believe she can live comfortably with other cats if given a longer time to acclimate to them. Ginger is ready to be your best friend if you are looking for an independent and non-demanding companion. She is a beautiful cat that deserves a loving home.
