7/7/23 UPDATE:
Jean has a boyfriend and his name is Zuzu! Check photos for some cuddle time :)

June 27 UPDATE:
Jean was briefly adopted, but was returned when it became clear that she missed her cat friends. Living as a solo kitty with no one to head butt or talk to was not for our Jean Bean. If youre looking for a laidback companion for your laidback, low-maintenance kitty, Jean may just be the best choice for you!

January 31 UPDATE:
new year, still here :(

December 13 UPDATE:
Why has no one adopted this sweet potato??? Asking for a friend...

September 26 UPDATE:
Jean, also known as Miss Jean, Jeanie Beanie, and Jean Queen, is a volunteer favorite. She loves laps. Shes very talkative. And shes shaped sort of like a potato, round and low to the ground. We love her.

May 15 UPDATE:
Jean is now one of our most social young adults! She is legitimately obsessed with her "boyfriend" Pharaoh, she loves to snuggle in laps (and will sometimes slap other cats away who are trying to get in on that snuggle time), and she has no problem climbing under, over, and around other cats in her quest to get all the canned food she can. Shes amazing!

April 27 UPDATE:

Jean has made AMAZING progress within the last two weeks. We think her fondness for Pharaoh (another cat who is available for adoption) has helped her learn that us humans are here to love her, not hurt her. She follows his lead and can often be seen following him around, nuzzling him. She now always greets us at the door, loves affection, and will readily curl up in any lap that is offered to her! Were so proud of how far she has come!!!!

*

Jean is a very special kitty who needs a loving home with a patient and compassionate human. As gorgeous as she is, it should be noted that Jean will require a cat-savvy owner due to some past trauma.

We found Jean outside our Cat Shelter amongst our feral cats. When we trapped her to spay her, it was quite clear that she was not feral, but had likely been dumped at our shelter. She was surviving amongst the feral cats, but was clearly terrified.

Now that she is safe inside, Jean is slowly coming out of her shell. She likes to have her head and bum rubbed (but not scratched) and she is fascinated by feather wand toys. She has a very girly meow.

She is happiest on a high perch, eating some snacks, and getting some pets. She will gently nibble on your hand to let you know when she is done with your affection.

She is to be an INDOOR ONLY cat. She may have briefly lived outside, but she is loving the security (and air conditioning) that an indoor-only life has to offer.

Jean is spayed, fully vaccinated, Microchipped, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV.

Her adoption fee is $75. Vet records are provided to adopters. If you are interested in adopting Jean, please fill out the adoption application on our website. It is under the “How to Adopt” tab at humanesocietyofwa.org
