My name is Shadow Nose and GSRNC knows someone is out there for me!

Shadow is a petite 45 lb. 2 year old female German Shepherd mix newly entering our program as an owner surrender. She was rescued out of an animal shelter in May 2023 by a family with good intentions. They made sure she was up to date on all her shots and provided her with premium food along with lots of toys.

Shadow was kept as an outside-only dog and, after 4 months, it was clear to the family that they could not provide this precious girl the loving, interactive, and adventurous home she deserved, so they asked our rescue for help.

Our trained volunteers evaluated Shadow and brought this gem in to be the newest member of our rescue family. Today, we are excited to introduce Shadow Nose to her future forever family. We hope as you read on, you will see the potential in this girl.

What initially attracted the owners to Shadow was how friendly and comfortable she was around adults, strangers, children, and other dogs. To their delight, they discovered her affectionate, energetic, outgoing, and curious personality.

Being an outside dog, she is used to sleeping in a dog house, and crated at night. She can be left alone without incident, does not nuisance bark, or dig, and is happy to keep herself occupied when she has toys to play with.

Our evaluator found Shadow to be relaxed while watching her in a sit, stand, and stay position as well as walking on a leash. This cutie rolled over for belly rubs before hopping up with a big smile and wagging tail hoping to entice our volunteer in a game of fetch.

Shadow has had no formal training but given her sweet demeanor, it should not take long to transform her from being a playful pup to your loyal loving companion. Since she has only been an outside dog since May, we dont know for sure if she is housebroken.
