Meet Precious! She has been in our care for the past three months and is patiently waiting a home of her own. The staff at the Snuggery says: "Here at the kennel, she really has become one of the best dogs. With new people she still just gets scared, but she doesnt treat them badly, just shakes and keeps a distance if she can. I can pick her up, lift her cheeks to look at her teeth, grab her paws, and shake her belly fat. Hahaha. She likes cooked veggies, turkey and rice, she likes chew bones sometimes so much she hides them in her blankets to savor for a few days. I think a slower/more chill house would be perfect. She could live with or without other dogs. Here she plays with dogs of all sizes. I also think shed be a fabulous only dog. She truly loves her people once she trust them! She wouldnt mind either way after a few weeks of warming up shed shine like she does here. Just wish someone would give her a shot" Basics: She is a spayed female guessed to be around 3 yrs old and she weighs close to 62lbs. Adoption Process: - Please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application - One of our team members will get back to you via phone. - Our dogs can be seen by appointment only. We do not have a facility at this time. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding - Adoption fee helps to cover transport costs, spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip. -We do not place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt. NOTE: We are very good about updating the pets profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available. About Us: Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit that is dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland and the Kansas City area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Dyer, IN area and partner with 12 other rescues and shelters in both IL and IN that are willing to help southern pets in need. We rely on donations to help fund our ongoing transports. Please donate if you can. Every dollar adds up and we are grateful for any help we can get: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/DayoftheDogs
