Meet Peach! Peach was rescued after a gentleman emailed us that he had been feeding a shy dog who has been hiding in his backyard. He could not find any owners or a microchip and he believes she has given birth before (not recently). We rescued her with only needing to slip a leash over her head while she laid upside down not moving. This poor girl is submissive with pretty much everything. She is very timid when we first move her to a new place, she will need time to adjust before you see her true- absolutely affectionate and adorable personality. She would LOVE to be the only dog and get all the attention. Our vet believes she is a Golden Retriever mix with possibly Boxer in her too and the more we learn about her personality, the more we agree with that. She really likes her crate and that is her safe place, but each day in her foster home she becomes more adventurous. She is house trained and does not chew anything. She does well now with walking on a leash, but loud noises may still startle her. She comes running to you when called once she gets comfortable. Truly thats all she wants is to get pet all the time. Her favorite thing in the world is cuddle time on the couch. She will sit by your feet and paw at you for attention every now and then (we are suckers for a sweet face and gentle paws). She will blossom once shes in her forever home and truly be a great dog for someone. She bonds strongly with her person and is extremely loyal. She would do best in a home without a lot of foot traffic coming in and out, she prefers to stay in the home and does not require daily walks. We have been taking her to Canine Country Club to socialize with meeting new people. The staff absolutely love her and while she was very scared the first day we brought her- now she hops in the car and is ready to go back! She has learned everyone is a sucker to stop what theyre doing to pet her. We will often hear new stories if the cuddle sessions she has with different staff members. Peach is about 4 years old, spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Adoption applications can be found at www.adorehouston.org/adoption-application/ and we do offer foster to adopt trial periods!
