Description:
Ginger (135734) is a beautiful, sweet, loving and gentle girl, approx 7.5 years old, 50 lbs and spayed Hound mix with the softest coat. Ginger loves to be the center of your world and will utterly enjoy to cuddle with you. Ginger was surrendered together with her buddy Nat (245030) and hopes to find a forever home together with him. She is housetrained and can be left alone in your home (crate or no crate). When on walks see has a fair bit of energy, is very curious and loves to sniff around. Nosework would be ideal for Ginger. She knows how to walk nicely on a leash - but may forget this skill if a squirrel or interesting scent is around! Due to this energy and adventurous spirit, a forever home with a fenced yard will make her very happy. She does well with children and other dogs (I have not tested this myself but her surrender form said so) - and she eagerly wags her tail when we meet children or other dogs on our walks - generally she seems very eager to say hello to everybody we meet. She knows the command for sit (her papers also say she knows stay, down, come and walks on leash - but when I try these command she does not react. Maybe due to my Danish accent ). Unknown how she reacts with cats, but based on her reaction towards squirrels I think her prey instinct may be too big to live with cats.
When inside she is very calm and hardly ever barks. Ginger is a little picky about her food and treats, preferring canned food and soft treats.

Ginger is currently in a foster home with her buddy Nat (245030). If youre interested in learning more about Ginger please email wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com or her foster at Msjeandan@gmail.com with the subject line "Ginger"
