Meet Midna! This adorable, 6-year-old mix is a great companion and loves to be with her people. She enjoys going on occasional adventures, but she prefers to stay inside where its warm and dry! After getting her energy out, Midna will cuddle up next to you for a nap and snooze the day away. Midna has mellowed out a lot in foster and prefers to spend the day curled up in her bed, or better yet, your lap! While she enjoys getting cuddles, she can also be independent and doesnt need to follow her people all around the house. Midna is house trained and crate trained and does really well in a crate when left alone while her foster parents are away at work. She is very trainable, food motivated, and has learned a lot of manners. She knows sit, down, stay, shake, out, come, and place. Such a good girl! Midna can be reactive toward other dogs and has some leash reactivity, but she can be redirected with a confident handler. Midna is not the dog to go to dog parks with or walks around a busy neighborhood! She would be happiest with quiet companionship and getting her zoomies out at home with her favorite people. Midna can be exuberant for the first few minutes after you get home and does the cutest little butt wiggles every time you walk in the door. She has done well with kids but older kids or dog savvy kids would be best to avoid getting ran over in her excitement! Midna loves people and meeting new folks, but she will definitely bark and let you know when someone has arrived at your door. Midna would do best in a home where she is the only pet to soak up your love and attention. She does have a prey drive so extra care should be taken to make sure she doesnt have access to small dogs, cats, or critters. She is very low maintenance and will make a great family dog for the right person or people! Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend. For a list of scheduled events go to: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/events . Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Additional pictures of adoptable dogs can be seen at: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/photos_stream?tab=photos_albums. All adoptable dogs are spayed or neutered at 6 months of age or older, and always before being placed in their new homes. APPLICATIONS CAN BE OBTAINED BY EMAIL ONLY. Adoption process includes application, meet & greet, home visit and reference check. Email Jamie at smidgetrescue@hotmail.com or click on the CONTACT link on this page. Notice: We do not ship dogs out of state. If you live within a five-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), we can arrange for a home visit.
