JET is a one-year-old, black female lab mix. She is 51 pounds and arrived at the shelter in mid August. According to staff, she is a sweetheart. Thanks to a new partnership between the University of Tennessee and Cumberland County Animal Shelter, JET was spayed and received a rabies vaccine on Monday, October 23. As a result, she can go home the same day that she is adopted! Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared! That includes taking a dog collar and leash with you to the adoption appointment in case you do decide to adopt JET. Even better, take a dog crate. No animal should be allowed to run freely in any vehicle. Especially an animal that you have just adopted! Safety first!
