Rocko, Buster, Trixie, Eleanor, Mila and Dozer were born August 22nd in a rural South Texas town to a stray dog. Being black puppies, they already dont have much of a chance, but being just puppies in a small town next to a busy highway, gives them less of a chance of survival. No rescues or shelters could take them, and mom was hit by a car and killed when they were just 6 weeks old. We knew we had to help, and we did. These puppies weigh about 10-16lbs (as of 11/26/23) and are just so sweet. Mom was a black lab about 40 lbs and we think these pups will stay around that size. Rocko - he doesnt like to put his ears up unless he hears treats or food in his bowl, then its game on and he can get satellite TV service. Hes not a huge fan of outside and would rather be inside on the couch or with the fosters children. Trixie- runt of the litter but has the highest energy out of everyone. She will zoom past you and you may not even see her! Entertaining for sure and fun for the kids. Eleanor - she is the next smallest and is more chill than the other puppies. Shed rather lay back and watch everyone do bad things than be apart of the shenanigans. Very sweet. Dozer - this boy is the biggest of the litter and the bravest of them. He has no fears and will be the first to try things out. Hes very smart. Mila - shes goofy. She loves her belly rubs and when she sits down or rolls over her ears go all over the place just flopping around. Very submissive and sweet. Gentle. Buster - middle size and loves giving kisses. He will climb on you to reach your face to give you lots of loving. Very curious and inquisitive, wants to know what youre doing. Will be your shadow. These puppies are working on house training but its a slow progress with all 6 puppies in the same foster. Theyre all smart and catching on thanks to the guidance of the fosters adult yellow lab. They would do wonderful with children as theyve grown up with them. They love other dogs and would do great with another one as theyre quite submissive and could use the confidence an adult gives. The foster has an out/in cat and theyve met her and they have zero issues (refer to picture!). These puppies have been well socialized, are great with all animals, love children and would make wonderful companion dogs for all types of households! All adoption fees include spay/neuter, current negative hw test if old enough, current age appropriate vaccines including rabies, parvo/distemper, lepto, bordatella, current heart worm and flea/tick preventions, lifetime registered microchip, 2 dewormers and transport costs from Texas to the East Coast. PLEASE READ THIS TO ADOPT: Www.ruraltank.org/adopt We process applications as first come, first serve so we suggest you fill out an application as soon as possible as we can receive quite a few per animal. If you submit an inquiry that questions something answered in this bio, we will not respond due to high volume of inquiries. ALL OF OUR ANIMALS ARE LOCATED IN SOUTH TEXAS. They are posted in areas where we transport to ONCE ADOPTED. 95% of our animals are pre adopted prior to transport, if you want to do a meet and greet with an animal in person we suggest going to a local shelter as we probably will not be able to offer that. Once approved though us, we will put you in contact with the foster family that has your animal to learn more about them! We transport every few weeks, TBD. Application turn around is usually about 1-3 days max, if not sooner. After you submit an application and want to send additional information or pictures of current animals/past ones in a separate email, we love that and it always helps your chances :)
