Strudel, 1y old, spayed female, Manchester Terrier mix, 35lbs. Strudel is in a foster home in San Antonio, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up!

Strudel was saved from the city shelter after having been rescued from a hoarding situation. She was kenneled with another dog who was very confident and outgoing, and really helped Strudel acclimate to their new surroundings. Still, Strudel is a reserved and introverted girl who takes some time to warm up to new places and faces.

Strudel has been in a foster home for some time and has continued to blossom but will require a patient adopter. She is not the "in your face enthusiastic and affectionate" type of dog, she is timid and shy when first meeting. She has demonstrated no negative/unwanted behavior - shes just shy. Nevertheless, her foster describes her as a happy, go-lucky type of gal who enjoys cuddles and affection from her person.

Strudel would absolutely love to have another dog in the home. She has lots of human and dog socialization to make up for and could learn a lot of how to confidently "dog". She does well with men and women, and has been in a home with kids as young as 2 and 4 years. Given her calm and quiet demeanor, we see no reason she couldnt live with young children as long as they respected her cues.

Strudel is big & small dog and cat friendly, and does very well in the kennel. She is learning how to walk on a leash since she has never really been given this opportunity previously. Since she is so new to the leash, we would strongly recommend using a slip lead when going outside to potty and even allowing her to wear one inside the house, as this gets her acclimated to the weight and feel of it.

Strudel has not had the best start to her life but she is very deserving of a happily ever after. We think her ideal home would be a mildly active one - maybe a walk or two per day - that also offered plenty of quality time and cuddles, as well as another dog or cat for companionship. Someone who is patient and willing to go at her pace, giving her the encouragement to be the brave girl she really is.

***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dogs exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
