Description:
Animal Profile: Athena is an estimated 9-month-old female Shepherd mix who joined us from New Mexico on 10/6. She currently weighs 33 lbs and has been assessed to be friendly with people and dogs.

Foster Update: Athena is settling in beautifully with her foster family and their resident pup. She is a total goofball with bouncy puppy energy. Athena LOVES playing with her foster brother, chase, rough and tumble and is also content playing with toys on her own. Some of her favorites are stuffys, balls and true to her puppy form anything chewy. Her fosters describe her as super playful and affectionate has become a supreme snuggler on the sofa!. Athena is smart and highly treat motivated so shes picking up new commands quickly and will be a great candidate for a lot of learning! She knows quite a few basics and is picking up more each day but she will need continued training with leash manners, boundaries and jumping. She is very responsive to verbal correction and making a ton of progress! Athena will be great with another dog, but will also be fine as a solo pup.

Athena has spent some time around kiddos and done well. She responds quickly to correction and is respectful of boundaries so we think she would be totally fine with living with children. She has also been out on several exciting adventures recently and done really well. She had a sleepover on a boat and did well, met some horses (a bit nervous at first but then did fine) and loved exploring the beach!

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test if applicable. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.
