COURTESY LISTING!!

This animal is presently in the care of a person who hopes to find it a good home. The Humane Society of West Alabama does not sponsor or foster the animal, but provides this courtesy information to help the animal find a permanent home. Please contact the individual and not the organization.

Contact Traci Watkins at 205-310-4956 or at TWATKINS@ICS-TEAM1.COM to meet this dog or with any questions.

Meet Bo! Bo is a 4 year old, male, American bully mix. Bo showed up this summer and a good Samaritan took him in. She made sure he received treatment for the cuts on his skin and head, and that he received necessary heartworm treatment. He is neutered and up to date on all vaccines. Bo is super sweet, energetic, wants to be loved on, loves to rest while getting his belly rubbed, a little shy at when meeting a stranger and will chew! He has several chew toys and antlers.

Bo finished heartworm treatment on November 4th, but will need exercise restriction (leash walks only) through the end of December. Additionally, Bo has a growth on the top of his head. The vet didnt want to remove it until mid December because she wanted to give him time to recover from the HW injections. His current foster will pay to have these removed and they can be done at the vet at Fosters Veterinary or at the vet of his adopters choosing. They are not contagious and the vet said she is not concerned about them being anything other than a growth. He scratched one off so she said they need to come off because they seem to bother him.

He has never been around small kids or cats so he would do best in a home without kids under 12 and without cats. We dont know his history so we would not be comfortable with him being around either. One person did reach out and she came to meet Bo with her dog and they got along great however she leaves her dog inside all day and he holds it if he has to go to the bathroom, so that wont work with Bo. He still needs more work with house and crate training.

We are looking for a foster/adopter. While fostering, we will pay for all food and medical care. We will cover the surgery as well to have the growths removed. If hes in a foster home, we would like to use Foster Veterinary since they have all his records. If hes adopted, we will pay for the surgery at the vet of your choice.
To foster or adopt, we will need personal references, vet references and a home visit. Must have a fenced in back yard and Bo must be able to come inside while someone is home. We do not want him to be an outside dog only but part of a family.

If interested in fostering or adopting and you meet the above criteria, please contact Traci Watkins through FB Messenger or contact information above.
Please share if youre in the Tuscaloosa/Northport area.
