MY AGE: approx. 9 weeks (12/19) WEIGHT: approx. 8-9 lbs. (12/20)

MY STORY: The breeder gave us twelve pups and a mom, Zoe. He said Zoes dad was a Tri-colored Aussie. Zoe is on our website. I believe she has poodle in her. He said Zoe was bred by a Tri-Colored Aussie. There was another Aussie mom that had pups a week earlier or later. He mixed the pups. So I have no way of knowing which might be Zoes. Australian Shepherds are highly intelligent and active medium-sized dogs with natural herding instincts and muscular and agile builds. They were originally bred to be used as working dogs and still have a strong drive to get jobs done and please their people.

Standing between 18–24 inches tall, the average Australian Shepherd weight is 40–65 pounds when full-grown, with males being generally larger than females

Australian Shepherds are high-energy dogs that love to have a job. They are known to be smart and loyal dogs that are typically friendly but can sometimes take a bit of time to warm up to strangers.

Due to their herding background, Australian Shepherds can have a prey drive and love games like fetch and Frisbee. But they might also like to chase moving objects—such as children, cats, cars, and other wheeled objects like scooters, bikes, and golf carts. However, with early socialization, they can live harmoniously with cats, children, and other dogs.

Dogs needing foster homes are available for adoption This dog does need a foster home. Have you ever considered fostering a dog? For more information, see the Fluffy dog rescue home page.
