1/31/2023 Update:
Cassidy is just a big hunk of love. He gives the absolute best hugs. This gorgeous guy doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and gets along famously with everyone he meets – both human and canine. He will fit in easily to a new family situation. He is not an alpha dog. He was very tolerant of a smaller dog barking at him and trying to get his toy. He just wants to be in the mix and cuddle up in a pile. Cassidy must have been in a home prior to coming into rescue, as he is potty trained and picks up a home routine very quickly.

Cassidy does great in doggy daycare and is fairly low energy. He would love to be your companion for a night on the couch in front of the TV. He gets very attached to people and will follow them around the house. He does have some separation anxiety when left alone, but we can’t blame him after what he’s been through lately. Perhaps this might get better in time once he has a stable home situation.

Although Cassidy does have a very laid back demeanor, he does enjoy being outside and going for walks. He is a hound but did not seem inclined to try to get out of the yard, as after a bit he always wanted to come back inside with the rest of the crew.

Cassidy does seem to be somewhat hard of hearing, though we don’t think he is completely deaf. He was pretty easy to communicate with and understands gestures quite well. If you get him going, he might even have a few words for you!

Original Post:
To reward him for 7 years of love and devotion, Cas was surrendered to the shelter because his owners "didnt have time for him." It makes us see red! Hes a friendly, chill guy who is probably wondering what the heck happened. We are delighted to have snagged him an awesome foster home where he can regroup and await a family that will be his forever. He could stand to lose a few pounds, but with the holidays approaching.... well, you know how hard it is to lose weight at this time of year! Wed love to see him in a home for Christmas. He deserves that. Hell soon be in his new foster home and well update as his personality unfolds. Stay tuned.
