******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyones time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Ollie, 2 year old, neutered male, black labrador mix, 45 pounds. Ollie is in a foster home in Camas, WASHINGTON and is ready for meet and greets. If you live far enough away that an in person meet and greet is not possible, we will set up a video chat. Ollie can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Ollie was saved from the city shelter in San Antonio, TX and is truly just as perfect as his initial posting described him. In fact, his foster mom says it’s hard to get a good picture because as soon as you talk to him, he tries to cuddle and love on you. Ollie is playful but not overly energetic - he enjoys fetch and chasing balls but possesses the ability to transition to a calm state quickly. His foster says he has a moderate amount of energy and would do very well with someone who is home more than they are away and/or with an active lifestyle and yard for him to play. Ollie is dog friendly and picks up on their cues well. When he was found, Ollie was picked up by a woman with a small Shih Tzu and said Ollie was very gentle with him. He has no issues meeting other dogs while on a leash, hes very calm and sweet in demeanor. He is working with his foster on some manners including not jumping and reinforcing basic commands. He already knows sit and walks really well on a leash, pulling minimally. He is crate and house trained, and has not displayed any signs of resource guarding food, treats or toys. He does have a bit of mild separation anxiety so crating when unable to be supervised is best until he settles in. We have no real history with cats or kids. Ollie appears scared of cats so we would recommend introducing slowly if necessary. Ollie has not been around kids and appears best suited for older children (10 years or older) because of his initial excitement and jumping. He may accidentally knock over a small kid with his exuberance! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dogs exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt him?
