Meet Turman. This sweet boy was rescued with his mate and their six 7-week-old puppies in early November. The family lived in an outdoor pen in a rural community with little engagement with the outside world. Howie spent his entire life in that pen, never going inside the home or even to a vet. The pen was his universe. A local animal advocate became aware of the familys situation and reached out to Worthy Dog for help. Thankfully, the owner surrendered all the dogs so that they could have a better life. We believe Truman may have started out as a family dog, and is the most confident pup of the pack. Hes had a pretty easy transition to home life and has been fostered with other dogs and as an only dog too. Hes done well in both environments. He has a moderate energy level and enjoys his daily walk. His current foster mom walks him a few times a day, 2 to 3 miles a day. He loves to sniff everything and will go potty on leash, and cars and normal traffic noises dont seem to bother him. After a walk, he will come in and relax on the couch. Hell do zoomies in the house when hes excited, but then jump on the couch and wait for you to come sit with him. He loves to snuggle and sit with you or in your lap on the couch. He loves blankets too and will burrow under them. Overall he does pretty well meeting new people. When guests visit, his foster mom tells guests to let Truman come to them, and once he sniffs hes comfortable. Truman is crate-trained and housetrained. When left home alone in the crate he may bark for a few minutes but then settles down. During the day he will go into his crate on his own and take a nap. He does chew his tags so when his foster mom crates him, she does take his collar off. If you have something on with a zipper he likes to chew ithe has a thing for metallol.
