Senior Hearts Rescue and Renewal is the only licensed senior dog rescue organization in Western Pennsylvania. We do not have a shelter or a public facility. ALL of our dogs reside in foster homes in the greater Pittsburgh, PA area.

We are a 100% volunteer organization. Please respect our volunteers time. If a dog is listed on PetFinder, he/she IS available for adoption. We cannot reply to messages, phone calls, and emails about a dog until we have received, reviewed, and approved an adoption application.

Our ADOPTION application is found at

Completing this application is the first step in our adoption screening process. You MUST complete the application in its entirety in order to be considered as a potential adopter. Please select "More About Us" for further details on our adoption requirements. You can meet a dog ONLY after we have completed our adoption approval process.

We look forward to receiving your application in hopes that you are able to meet our adoption requirements and provide this dog with a loving furever home.

And now a few words from Peanut...

I am 11 years young and currently weigh about 9 pounds. I am on a weight loss program so Im working hard to weigh less.

Im a funny little guy with a big personality. I think its a chi thing. I like going on walks and getting all the sniffs in. When I decide Ive gone far enough, I put the brakes on. There is no making me go anywhere at that point. So you will have to be prepared to carry me the rest of the walk!

I like other dogs my size. I like them so much that I require at least one other small dog in my adoptive home.

I need people to be patient when first meeting me. But once I get to know you, watch out. I will be your loyal little buddy. Im generally quiet when left alone. But I do cry like a baby with excitement when I see my leash or my dinner bowl!

I am in good health. I am house trained and crate trained. Im looking for an adult-only home where I will get the walks I require and Im which the humans will laugh at my funny self.

I can be adopted within a two-hour radius of Pittsburgh, PA. If you are interested in giving me a furever home, you must first complete the adoption application at
