Name: Matthew Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua mix Best Guess for Age: 6 years as of December 2023 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 7 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We havent seen him with cats but he can be tested. Due to his breed mix and small size, he may not go to a home with children under the age of 12. Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special adoption considerations: Due to his breed mix and small size, he may not go to a home with children under the age of 12. Due to an interesting quirk, he will do best in a home where his people do not wear hats. Matthew is Looking For: His forever home! We dont know the start of Matthews story, but Matthew is a nervous boy who is learning how to live in a home, and that people make good things happen. He is working on confidence building and would do best in a home with an experienced dog owner who is comfortable providing structure, consent-based interactions, and continuing the counter conditioning and confidence building he is working on with his current foster. On his wish list for the perfect family are patience, understanding, quality food and a cushy dog bed. And a lack of hats. Yes, you read that. Matthew has a very interesting quirk - he does not like people in hats. No fedoras, beanies, Panama or boater hats, ten-gallon hats - no hats at all! In exchange, he promises to gaze adoringly at you as long as you have no hat on, give you happy little tail wags, and be your loyal companion for all his days. What do you say? Isnt having this sweetie on your lap worth forgoing the baseball caps, berets, and all those other hats?
