Marty is an endearing but STRONG Dobie boy who came to us from an upstate shelter. Fortunately, hes apparently very dog-social, as he let himself out of a crate and a fenced area in order to run with other dogs having that privilege. He is currently bunking with another male Dobie, who seems slightly overwhelmed by Martys energy level. He did come directly to us when called, so he would likely be a good candidate for dog parks and dog beaches, and this would help to expend some of his energy. An adult home or at least one with teenage kids would be best, at least until Marty has enough training not to overwhelm smaller fry. He appears to know basic commands like "sit" and "come." His animal shelter aged him at 5 years, but to our experienced eye he appears to be more like 3. When impounded at his shelter he had several wounds, one of which required shaving and suturing, on his forehead. We dont expect this to be permanently scarred, though it may always be noticeable.
