Please review all above resources; if your question is not answered there, we can be reached via email at adopt@spicycats.org. Meet Jake! This scruffy gentleman came to us after his dad passed away. If we didn’t know Jake’s age, we’d never guess he’s as old as he is! He truly has the personality of a kitten. Jake is a very affectionate boy who loves his people. He crawls into your lap and rubs his face on yours, however his favorite place is on your shoulder. He will lay on your back as you do household chores (on a phone call? Cleaning baseboards? Jake’s THERE!) Jake also loves to play with wand toys and catnip and is known to jump high into the air after them. He currently lives with other cats and mostly does well with them, though he grew up as an only cat and he would be just fine as only cat in the home. His ideal kitty housemate would be chill and not mind getting playfully whacked every once in a while. Also much like a kitten, Jake can be a little nippy when he gets overstimulated. He does give great warning signals and this should be completely avoidable with a pet parent who understands kitty behavior. Our favorite thing about Jake is how human oriented he is and his joyfully juvenile antics. Health-wise Jake is overall in great shape, but as with any ”antique” he needs a little maintenance. He is on one daily medication (hypertension), one monthly medication (arthritis), and a prescription diet (early kidney disease). He is a total foodie and loves taking his pills once they’re wrapped in a pill pocket :) The Petfinder Foundation has graciously provided a grant to Jake’s future family that will cover the cost of approximately 12 months of his arthritis medication. Other Cats: okay with the right match Dogs: may be okay with cat-savvy dogs Kids: respectful kids 10+ who understand that he is an older dude despite acting like a kitten :) DOB: ~2010 All Spicy Cats are spayed/neutered and UTD on vaccines prior to adoption.
