Description:
Shuri came into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. This poor guy was limping when he first arrived, so shelter staff sent him to the vet. There were no signs of injury, so Shuri was sent back to the shelter to wait out his stray time. During his time at the shelter, the limp subsided, and he quickly became a staff favourite due to his friendly nature. Shuri spent about a month at the shelter, but nobody came forward to claim him. The shelter is currently over capacity and more animals are coming in at an alarming rate, so Shuri ended up on the euthanasia list. We were very happy that a foster home opened up and we were able to get sweet Shuri out of the shelter to safety.
He had a vet visit on his rescue day, and all seems okay with his health and his leg. The vet estimated him to be about 8 years old.
Shuri was started on a weight loss food and he’s working on shedding a few pounds. Shuri made himself quite comfortable in his foster home…claiming the couch as his own, so he can be right next to anyone who happens to be seated there. Such an adorable kitty! Sweet Shuri is now ready to find his forever home!

Here’s a note from Shuri’s foster mom:
“Shuri is one of the sweetest, most laid back kitties I have ever met. He is a gentleman who loves to be loved and to give love in return. His favourite activity is to cuddle with his human! He likes nothing better than to sit beside me with his head and one paw resting on my thigh. He also gently snuggles up beside me in bed, purring contentedly. He is a quiet fellow who makes no demands other than a few simple meows in the morning while waiting for his breakfast. If you are looking for a handsome, sweet, loving, kitty, Shuri is your guy!”
