If there was an entry for “Luxuriant House Panther” in your grandmother’s copy of Encyclopaedia Britannica, Trevor’s picture would be there. He came into our program over a year ago with his brother Kodi. They were terrified kittens who took a long time to realize that people are actually not all bad. Human hands can be gentle, and human attention doesn’t need to activate a survival response. While still on the cautious side, Trevor is a far cry from that timid little kitten he used to be. His dense, ebony coat has a healthy gleam. He can look you in the eye and not shrink away, rather, starting up his prodigious purr engine to welcome attention. What hasn’t changed is his sweet nature, which was always evident, even when his fear often won out over his yearning for affection. He’s always one of the first to gently welcome a new foster, especially kittens. He rarely sleeps alone, almost always curled around one, two, or three of his buddies. Kittens enjoy nestling into his sides, as if he’s a big fluffy hot water bottle. Even when he was at his most fearful, Trevor never lashed out or reacted with claws or teeth. What this bona fide Domesticus house pantherus needs now is a loving person willing to show him the next level of domestic felicity. If you feel that person is you, please contact Aiding 2 Adoption Rescue.
