We pulled Norm in July from the @ahsnewark after being found tied to a tree. We have never seen such abuse & pure neglect like what Norm endured. Norm truly was left to die, however with all the support we have received from our #teamnorm family, we were able to get him the proper medical care. After two months of vet visits, medications & tests, we now have a clear view of what Norm needs to live his golden years in pure happiness. We have found out that Norm does have a low grade heart murmur due to a smaller valve going into his heart. He does not need any heart medications but does need a follow up echocardiogram every six months. Unfortunately we have determined Norm does have severe kidney disease & will need daily medication & prescription food moving foreword so his kidneys do not go into failure. With that being said, Norm’s kidneys are to damaged to undergo any surgery what so ever. So at this time, we cannot get Norm neutered or schedule his eye surgeries for his cherry eye & removal of his trauma eye which has left him blind in that eye. We know Norm is a “special needs” case & he needs a very special adopter. Norm is nothing but pure joy & has taught each person he has met in our rescue what love truly is. He is thriving in his foster home & with his five foster dog siblings. He is a happy, silly, affectionate, smart, love bug who would make any home a better place. Coming from such a horrible past, we are amazed on how loving he is. He has a little happy trot to him, the cutest bully snore & just wants belly rubs & lap time.
