In shelter Dog

McKinney, TX, 75070
Pet name:
Great Pyrenees
Luka was adopted as a puppy and was living his best life! Around the age of 1, his family welcome a new baby into their lives and at that point his hair began to shed and he showed signs of demodex mange. This type of mange comes out when the body is under stress and is non contagious, but certainly does not look pretty! For the next two years the vet the family brought him to was trying different options, some worked better than others but he would flair up again bringing him back to ground zero.

They reached out to LHS for assistance helping find him a more suitable home as they cannot help but feel that its possible the baby/toddler in the home is whats causing his demise. He is very gentle, never shown an oz of aggression towards anyone, but with all of the skin issues starting when the baby arrived and all other options have been explored, they feel that it might be in his best interest to find a home without the stress of a toddler.

Luka is wonderful with cats, dogs and kids of all shapes and sizes. He is housebroken and crate trained. He has been neutered, is heartworm negative, current on vaccinations and microchipped! All he needs now is a loving home for him to call his own. He is currently being treated, for his not so handsome but non contagious skin condition, under the LHS care for the skin condition with 21 days of antibiotics, once a month topical flea/tick/heartworm/mange prevention and grain free food. His skin treatment is completely covered through LHS until he had completely healed.
