Cinder is a happy little boy in spite of being surrendered to our rescue when his owner could no longer take care of him. He is currently living with his foster family and he has adjusted beautifully. Cinder loves EVERYONE, all people and the resident dogs in his foster home (cats are an unknown though). He has a hard time meeting new dogs and can come on a strong as he gets very excited and can frighten them. So, Cinder wouldnt mind being your one and only! Cinder is about 6 years old and weighs 16 lbs. He is house trained and crate trained. He is fine staying in the crate for a few hours during the day, but he is not used to being crated or left alone for an extended period of time. Cinder sleeps in his crate all night long. He is also good in the car. He doesnt require a fenced in yard, but he sure does enjoy running and playing in his fosters fenced yard. After a good amount of exercise, he likes to settle down and relax. Cinder is extremely social. Its like hes never met a stranger! He will actually whine and pull to say hi to people on his walks. He can see dogs on his walks and will whine and pull, but moves along with redirection. His foster mom has been working with him on this. But most of all, Cinder loves to go for walks! In fact, he NEEDS two walks a day; one after breakfast and one after dinner. Cinder is a good eater and eats all of his food at meal time. He is not a grazer. Cinder is NOT low shed or hypoallergenic. So heres the thing with Cinder....his previous owner was unable to care for him for quite a while. Cinder developed a horrible yeast infection that affected his ears and skin. It is believed that the yeast infection was caused by an allergy to something in his previous environment. All of this caused him to lose a great amount of his hair. EHR has gotten him much needed medical attention and he is on the road to recovery. His coat has returned and he is a beautiful red/tan color with highlights of white fur. Although Cinder is showing no signs of allergies at this time, his new family will need to monitor him for signs of allergies throughout his life. Cinder needs a family who is committed to his overall well being, wont give up on him, and will love him for the rest of his life. Apply to adopt CINDER NJ at www.ehrdogs.org
