Barney was a stray picked up by animal control and never claimed by anyone, so he came to Pet Friends to help him find a home. When he first came to the shelter, he was very nervous, didnt like to be petted, had trouble relaxing and was very jumpy. Now that he has been with Pet Friends for a while, he is no longer nervous, is able to relax and likes getting a good scratchin. While his jumpiness has improved, he still sometimes thinks jumping is the best way to say hello to people or to convince you he needs the treat youre holding. Barney loves to go for walks, and does fairly well on a leash (he will pull sometimes when he is impatient to visit a tree that he thinks needs investigating), plus he enjoys playing fetch. He would need to be introduced to other dogs in a potential adopters house to see how they get along, but he is a definite "no for cats. Overall, Barney is a happy, friendly guy who would be a great addition to an active family. A fenced yard would also be best for Barney to give him a place to burn off his energy.
