Meet Fig (aka Figgy, Figgyboy, Big Fig, Figgeroni)

Fig is a saucy little guy with a big personality. He loves zipping around and can jump several feet high like an energized rabbit. Aside from zoomies, his favorite things are food, treats, snacks, and munchies. He has a big appetite!

This is probably because he came to the rescue completely starved, with a body condition score of 1 (this is taking his breed into consideration -- it is normal and healthy for a few ribs to be visible on an Italian Greyhound). The shelter was about to euthanize Fig, and warned us he may not survive the transport to our facility. Since then, Fig has nearly doubled in weight, and evolved into a spunky, zippy, healthy dog. 

Fig is a young adult, likely around 2-3 years old (we were unable to get an exact age estimate by our vet because he does not like to be restrained or manhandled -- especially by strangers).

Fig is friendly and will come to you for pets, but is fearful of being picked up by strangers. It takes time for him to build trust, and he is sensitive with things like clipping harnesses on, or pulling him out of his kennel. He will nip if scared.

That being said, he is lovey and has a buttery sweet side. He likes to run circles around you and snuggle. He likes having his chin scratched, being told what a handsome boy he is, and being spoiled like a prince. Hed love a home with a yard to zoom about in.
