PEANUT - is a good boy who knows how to sit and who loves ice cream. He is sweet, energetic and very playful. He’s approx 2.5 - 3 years young, neutered, vaccines up to date and microchipped. He is currently at a paid foster home in Lebanon and can travel soon after he finds a loving forever home in Canada. Our rescue (RDL-C) had initially offered to help PEANUTs first owner who wanted to get rid of him because of travels. We found him an adopter, and at the last minute, the owner said he had made other plans for PEANUT. At the time, PEANUT did not have any injuries to his legs. Five months later, last March 2023, one of RDL-Cs volunteers visited Lebanon and went to some shelters and...surprise! There was PEANUT crammed in a cage with many other dogs. He had been given to a sailor who abandoned him at a very crowded shelter (we suspect PEANUT broke his right hind leg while with the sailor who then promptly abandoned him when he needed help the most). RDL-C stepped in and paid for all of his medical needs including surgery on his hind leg as it had previously healed poorly and caused an angulation deformity. The surgery was successful and his plate has been removed. We work with the top Orthopaedic surgeon in Lebanon and the Middle East! This very friendly little fellow is so happy to be indoors again and have a bed of his own. PEANUT loves his humans very much and can be a "velcro dog". He can get jealous if another dog approaches his favorite human. His current foster is a trainer and is working through this issue and he’s doing very well! Personality: Friendly, social with people, social with dogs, affectionate, playful. PEANUT would benefit from a fenced backyard to burn some of his energy and will need walking / exercise daily. He would do best as an only dog but could be integrated in a household with another more submissive dog. Email us for an application: RescueDogsLebanonCanada@gmail.com Call Cynthia: 416-587-8804
