What my friends at ACC say about me: Please check here for updated adoption hours. It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children. I am a sweet, social, older gentleman, looking for the perfect forever home! I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me. I have been known to shower my favorite people in love! I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home. A volunteer writes: Lucky Charms never envisioned ending up at shelter in his golden years; but sadly, thats what happened when his owner could no longer care for him due to their own health issues. Lucky has, understandably, been overwhelmed in a large, overcrowded shelter environment, feeling fearful and aloof, and uncomfortable with touch. Lately, though, hes started showing glimmers of his sweet, friendly disposition. I usually find him curled up on his blanket, seemingly tuning out the constant din of barking dogs and other shelter noises; but when I show him the leash, his eyes get that wide, happy look and as I open his kennel door, his tail goes all waggy as he gets up to be leashed. I think once hes in a loving home, this sweet senior will really open up. He enjoys slow walks, stopping to sniff whatever seems interesting, and has had excellent housebreaking habits with regular walks. Luckys previous owner describes him as playful; listens well; knows the cues for sit, come, down, and stay; and has a high activity level. Theres something special about adopting a senior pet and this gentle soul is hoping to find his Lucky Charms adopter or foster.
