In shelter Dog

Scarborough, ON, M1P 4P5
Pet name:
Mixed Breed
Coat length:
Dante was tied to the shelter fence with 3 other dogs. They all seem to be quite bonded. It’s clear he came from a home and received great care. Unfortunately, someone chose to dump them and they are all trying to process the change in their lives. We have been working with our vet to determine why he walks differently and sometimes falls down if he tries to turn around too quickly. After xrays were completed, we see he had some sort injury to his spine, either a hit or blow. He has a fracture which clearly healed as is, but he did not have surgery. He also has 2 pellets lodged near his back which our vet is recommending due to the location of those they need to be left as surgery would be too risky. He is a happy boy and does fine around other dogs. Zero aggression, like to stick close to the dogs he came in with. Such a great boy.

Adoption process:

Our rescue is located near Bucerias, Mexico. We use Petfinder to reach a greater audience for our dogs and adopt the majority of our dogs to the US and Canada.

The first step is submitting an application on our website here:

We will review your application and contact you if we have more questions/do a home check. If your application is approved, we work with flight angels that are flying from Puerto Vallarta to destinations close/in where the dog is posted as available. Adopters meet these flight angels at the airport and take the pup home. (More about this process can be explained to adopters of course in more detail). Before asking for adoption fees/adoption contract to be signed we give adopters a few days to a week to spend time with their new pup. If for some reason thing were to not work out we ask that the adopters foster the dog until we find a home for them to go.

A few notes about our pups!:

- Most of our shelter dogs are used to being outside free roaming unless otherwise stated. Some of them have been in homes before and thus are potty trained but in a new home they would need easy access to the outside and be re-acclimated to where you want them to go potty we cannot guarantee if a pup is potty trained unless they are with a foster or surrendered to us and it is noted.
-We can of course send more videos/pictures of our dogs, more than likely, theyll have friends in the background :) We cannot do live videos at our shelter.
-Our dogs are given de-wormer, Heartworm tested negative (unless otherwise noted), up to date on required vaccines for travel and current on flea and tick treatment, have been evaluated by our vet that has taken care of their medical they may have needed upon rescue.
-Last but not least, we LOVE our dogs, and we hope you do too, they have solid hearts of gold and some of them are the most humble youll find around. Please be kind and patient with them, they are worth it!
