Gunner has been with us for quite some time, waiting for the perfect forever home. He is a big, strong boy and is not the "perfect" dog because he does have some quirks, but due to his past we can completely understand. He really is such a lovable GOOD BOY. Gunner was found abandoned left chained in a back yard starving day after miserable day. While at the shelter he was incredibly fearful and reactive through the kennel bars but once out just wanted to be loved, we couldnt walk away and leave him to die alone and afraid. He does have some barrier reactivity (when there is a leash, kennel, fence) with dogs, but is dog friendly in his day-to-day life. He loves kids and in his previous adoptive home, before he was returned, was BFFs with a blind kitten. Gunners energy level is medium but will really be whatever you are. He loves all visitors. I usually let them in before I let him come say hi because of the barrier issues he has with kennels could be an issue at a door. He knows several commands and is a super snuggly boy. Men are his absolute favorite, hes a total dudes dog. He is good with kids and has lived in a home with newborn through 10 years old. He can sometimes not be aware of his size when he gets excited and he will take a kid out and not think twice of it. But takes food gentle and likes to follow them around. He doesnt care whose stuffed animal he has, he will destroy it. He does love car rides, sometimes can be nervous but wants to go. Hanging outside is his FAVORITE! Gunner also has really funny zoomies. And as you can see...he has a GREAT smile. Please note: Gunner is NOT a dog that can do walks. He amps at any dog outside his leash barrier and corrections only cause more negative stimulation and for him to redirect on his handler. Gunner needs 6 foot privacy fence.
