SECRET AGENT RANDY BEANS is a 3 to 4-year-old male Russian blue cat. He arrived at the shelter in early December and has not been reclaimed. He weighs 12 pounds and is a very sweet and handsome fellow. Scheduled to go out of state on a transport through AARF to one of their partner agencies which tested him, and found that he was FIV positive. As a result, he was not eligible to go on transport. All the positive test result really means is that his immune system is compromised. It does not mean that he is sick or that he will die from it. He can be in a house with other cats with no problem, and he can live a long, normal and healthy life. Just like with any other cat, if he did get sick, he would need to be seen by a veterinarian so he could be treated and any illness brought under control. Thanks to HART, a local cat rescue group that assists the shelter, RANDY, was neutered and received a rabies vaccine on Tuesday, December 19. As a result, he can go home the same day that he is adopted! Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared! That includes taking your own cat carrier with you to the adoption appointment in case you do decide to adopt RANDY or one of the other spayed or neutered cats. No animal should be allowed to run freely in any vehicle. Especially an animal that you have just adopted! Safety first!
