***PLEASE READ AND SHARE TO HELP CHARLIE FIND HIS PERFECT HOME! *** Charlie is a very handsome, 2-year-old, neutered shepherd/lab mix weighing in at 58 lbs. Charlie is kenneled trained and knows to use the bathroom outside and enjoys playing in the yard and with his toys. He came from an environment where he lived with many dogs in a boarding/day care situation. Since coming to Wisconsin, Charlie has figured out what he likes, what he doesnt like, and what he wants his life to be like. ~ Charlie has some stranger danger ?: people with hats, quick approaches, and quick movements make him nervous. Like many dogs, Charlie needs slower intros to humans and wants to be able to see their faces. Allowing Charlie to approach on his own terms, and tasty treats, is best to help him get comfortable. Once hes comfortable with you, hes the best friend youll have, but he may not be the beer garden social butterfly kinda guy. ~ Charlie does best with proper introductions to dogs on neutral territory, which is best for most dogs. ? Hes a loyal boy who will alert you to strangers and strange animals on the property. He does enjoy playing with some of his foster brothers, but hasnt wanted to befriend every dog he has met, kind of like your coworkers. ? ~Charlie lives with cats and does well with them! He gives them space and sometimes goes in for a sniff. Charlies best friend at his current home is a spunky feline! ~Charlie is extremely smart and treat motivated! He recently participated in a short board and train where he did exceptionally well, very quickly. He quickly learned the place command and got some fine tuning on his basic commands. Charlie is looking for an owner who will give him the structure, boundaries and guidance he needs to continue to master his skills and be the best boy he can be! When Charlie goes to his adoptive home he takes his training tools with him, along with a consultation with his trainer! ?? Part of Charlies adoption fee has been sponsored! If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- www.luckymuttsrescue.org and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in Milwaukee. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home. Current Adoption Fees Are: $400+tax for puppies to 3 years old $350+tax for ages 4-7 $250+tax for ages 8 and up Bonded pairs vary The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs.
