Meet Marshmallow! Marshmallow is a handsome 5 year old, Siamese mix with beautiful blue eyes. He is a precious love bug! He loves to get scritches on his head and under his chin. He loves pate canned food. (He no longer eats dry food,) He has a positive, calm, easy-going attitude despite all he has been through, and would be a great companion animal for the right person. Marshmallow has had a very hard life up until now, He was obviously dumped and wandered a persons property for at least a year pleading for help. He was frightened and wanted so badly to come inside and be part of a family, like he once was. He never left their property for an entire year, apparently trying to convince the couple to let him inside. Marshmallow slept on their porch furniture, followed the people everywhere out in the yard and often tried to get into their home through the garage. He was frightened, but they would not allow him inside. It wasnt until his front paws were painful, swollen, and bleeding for a period of 4 months that they finally contacted us for help. Once in our care, he was immediately taken to the vet and it was found that this sweet boy had a very hard and difficult life. Not only were his front paws painful and bleeding and the worst case of Pillow Foot that our vet had ever seen in her 30 years of practice, but he had a lot of broken teeth. This couldve happened by abuse/blunt-force trauma. After a lot of tender, loving care, Marshmallows paws healed completely, and it was discovered he had Diabetes, which is manageable. He is doing very well now and is healthy. Our sweet boy, Marshmallow is ready for his own home. Marshmallow is a special needs cat. He is diabetic and FIV+ .Being FIV+, is no longer a big deal. Many cats go on to lead long, healthy lives and, as you can see, Marshmallow has recovered quickly and extremely well (unheard of) from Pillow foot. Regarding his diabetes, so the FIV does not hinder his healing process or health., Marshmallow takes his food and insulin well. (He is on a very low dose of insulin )His supply of insulin and supplies will come with him to his new home. His new family must have experience with a diabetic cat. Full disclosure, this boy fully has my heart, but he needs his very own home to love him and enjoy him as I have. Marshmallow is neutered, had his rabies and FVRCP vaccines, tested negative for feline leukemia, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. His perfect family would be a responsible person experienced with diabetic cats, in a low activity, quiet home with either no children or children over the age of 10. Please consider adding Marshmallow to your family. You wont regret it. He is a sweetheart. Please contact us at GoodMews22@aol.com
