Mia (MIA/Missing in Action) and Malik-Maloo (“flying without any wings”) are two joyful kittens that are seeking their purrfect forever home, one that will love and cherish them while providing them with a stable, safe environment. In turn, these beautiful babies will shower their family with love, purrs, and biscuits. These two are pure joy!

Mia (tortie) and Maloo (orange tabby) are gentle, loving, engaged, silly kittens who are super curious, get into just the right amount of mischief, play hard, and crash into puddles of cuddles on the couch or in bed with you. Mia is visually impaired, and Maloo is her seeing-eye buddy. She can sense light and shadow and shiny objects, but her depth perception is off; she cannot see any details.

They have a healthy amount of independence from each other but are deeply bonded. Both Mia and Maloo know their names and come when they are called. Maloo likes to be near "his people" and will follow you around. Mia is a bit more independent and determined to "do it her way," but ultimately wants to be cuddled with Maloo or on a warm lap. Both these kittens are just scrumptious.

Maloo enjoys leaping in the air after a wand toy and dragging it around the house, while Mia also like to jump up after things real and imaginary, when she’s not cuddling in her lovely princess bed. 

After lots of bed snuggles, they wake up, get breakfast of wet food, and are ready to conquer their world. This usually involves some wand-toy play time, running laps with the other cats in their foster home, watching birds and chatter, more afternoon wand toy and flight school, naps and cuddles, dinner at 6 and evening laps with the other cats, then off to bed with a snack and full belly for a good night’s sleep. These two littles will sleep through the night snuggled together in their own bed or yours.

Mia must start her new life in her forever home in the same room with her litter box, so she can easily learn where it is—she is a fast learner!

Mia and Maloo currently live in a multi-cat household with two human adults and a set predictable routine. They occasionally travel to the cabin, go to work with their foster mom, and are very relaxed and comfortable in the car. Both Mia and Maloo are very well-socialized with other cats. They respect the other cats’ boundaries, yet very much enjoy active play with others. Given Mia has a vision impairment, I do not recommend young children.

The ideal home for these two would be a loving, caring, stable, uncluttered, somewhat predictable environment. No open balconies or open stairways, please—Mia could fall off of as her depth perception is impaired.  Both of these kitties need to live the good indoor-only life, as Mia especially would not be safe outside. 

No specific prior experience with special-needs cats is required, but this pair’s future people must be comfortable having a visually impaired kitty, and be willing to be attentive to her needs, as well as ensure that the house is accessible for Mia to navigate.

All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.
