Handsome gentleman seeking a long-term commitment! Rusty is a 4 year old neutered male wheaten terrier mix (best guess!) who weighs 47lbs. This scruffy love has quite the story to tell! Rusty was trapped after spending at least 20 months on his own in a busy downtown area. His devoted "groupies" fed him daily and didnt give up, and he was eventually captured and brought to safety. Now that his gallivanting days are behind him, he is hoping for a soft, cozy resting spot, belly rubs, and the occasional quiet stroll. Rusty is looking for an experienced family prepared to give him the patience and support he needs to settle into his new way of life. He is very cautious and gentle by nature, and will need some time to warm up to new people. Once he is comfortable, he is quite the couch cuddling extraordinaire! Rusty would do best in a calm and quiet home environment. He seems to prefer being the only dog in his home - larger dogs seem to make him uneasy, but we think hed be fine with a smaller, calmer canine sibling. Rusty is housebroken and walks well on a leash but does often spook at sudden noises. He has been the perfect dog at the vet and rides well in the car. Rusty is food motivated, eager to please, and will work for treats. He loves his stuffies and will be bringing his beloved stuffed frog to his forever home with him :) If you are looking for a laid-back companion to share your couch and steal your heart, Rusty is your man!
