Description:
Sam is another precious Wheaten Terrier that is currently being fostered with one of our dog trainers that specializes in timid, shy dogs. He is absolutely adorable and her foster mom says he is making great progress. He is super sweet and wants so badly to come close but is still a bit nervous of people. Once he is in your arms he starts to relax and really enjoys being snuggled. He is very food motivated which makes it easier to work with his shyness. He is fully kennel trained and loves, loves, loves his kennel, it is his safe place. He has learned the doggie door and is potty trained. He is also doing really well learning to walk on a leash but will need someone to introduce him to the world slowly to give him time to adjust to his new life. There are lots of other dogs at his foster moms house so we know he is dog friendly, her foster mom doesnt have any cats but thinks he would be fine with them if introduced properly. She also thinks he would be fine with calm, older children. He will probably do best with a quieter household and an adopter who will give him love and patience. He would also do well with a dog to play with but another dog is NOT necessary if the adopter is willing to help him on his confidence journey. Please consider this adorable little guy as a part of your family. He will give you a lifetime of love. The shy dogs become the most loyal dogs and LOVE LOVE LOVE their humans. He has so much love to give and is looking for his FurEver Home. His foster mom is located in Fort Collins Colorado and wants to find a patient adopter who is willing to help him continue with his training and help him gain confidence either with in person, or virtual training session(s). She will provide a discount on training.
