Adoption policy

The organization was organized in January 2015 to support the additional needs of shelter, and homeless domestic animals of Bedford County Virginia. We will work to decrease the number of animals euthanized at the Bedford county Animal Shelter: By seeking out rescue with other non-profit groups for Bedford County Animal Shelter pets By educating the public about the importance of controlling the pet population by spaying and neutering pets. By helping supply needed veterinary care for Bedford County Animal Shelter Animals through donations. By having a group of volunteers spend time with the shelter animals providing them with attention, affection and socialization in attempt to increase adoptability. By holding adoption events and promoting Bedford County shelter pets in order to increase awareness of the numbers of shelter pets in need of new families. By educating the public on proper pet care and the responsibilities and benefits of pet ownership. Friends of Bedford County Animal Shelter, Inc. is a home-based animal welfare organization. We are working to decrease the number of animals euthanized at the Bedford county Animal Shelter. FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
