Adoption policy

Hallie Hill is an almost 30-year-old sanctuary that provides a safe-haven for about 150 dogs and 50 cats on any given day. \t\xa01.We provide long term care for those animals unable to find a home and we support No Kill in the Charleston Community by providing a final home for some of the older or hard-to-place animals from other shelters. \t\xa02. We play a critical part in the continuum of care for many animals with severe medical issues, as we rehabilitate animals who are medically or emotionally challenged until they are ready to find a permanent home. \t\xa03. We provide community outreach – we fund surgeries and medical care, deliver dog and cat food, build dog houses and even provide straw for bedding. We trap feral cat colonies and take them for spay/neuter surgery. \t\xa04. We provide adoptions – every animal we adopt into a private home allows us to save another. \t\xa0 5. FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
