Humane Society of Lake County is a 501(c)(3) no-kill animal shelter. Founded in 1976 as an organization solely for charitable purposes and has the general responsibility to operate for the advancement of humane treatment and the prevention of cruelty to animals. The Humane Society of Lake County (HSLC) is not an affiliate or chapter of any national organization, including the Humane Society of the United States. HSLC relies on the generosity of our community to fund lifesaving programs, and we do not receive government funding.
