The Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center provides residents of Iowa City, Coralville, University Heights, the University of Iowa, and unincorporated Johnson County with a variety of animal-related services including: \t\tAnimal Adoptions: Caring for and finding adoptive homes for relinquished, rescued, or stray animals. \t\tLost and Found Pets: Sharing information on lost and/or found pets and providing shelter until pets are reunited with their owners. \t\tLicensing, Permits, and Dog Park Tags: Issuing licenses, tags, and/or permits for pets; urban chickens; use of the city dog parks; businesses (pet stores, groomers, kennels, etc.); and special events involving animals. \t\tInvestigations, Complaints, and Emergencies: Stray animal pick-up; investigations of animal neglect and cruelty; barking dog complaints; disaster response; emergency housing for animals; reporting and investigation
