Adoption policy

Liberty Acres United Rescue Animal Sanctuary is a nonprofit Sanctuary for those animals that society has labelled unadoptable. We are dedicated to rescuing animals from other facilities where they have run out of time and are subject to being euthanized, along with animals who have lost their owner due to death or illness. These are the animals that have no other options. We would like to offer them a home until a forever family is found. If a forever home is not an option for them we will provide a loving environment and care for them until the end of their days. We firmly believe each animal should be judged on their character and not on their breed, age or disability. Animals in our care receive proper veterinary care including spay/neuter which in turn helps in the prevention of over population of companion animals. If the animal has an illness that is unable to be treated they will receive pain management until the time the veterinarian deems the medication is no longer working. If we must euthanize an animal for an uncurable illness that animal will be euthanized by a licensed veterinarian. During which time we will celebrate the life they lived and let them pass with dignity and love. We also strive to work with other shelters and rescues to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for the animals.

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
