Once Upon A Tail Rescue

Adoption policy

Once Upon A Tail Rescue -Where every dog has a story and each one deserves a happy ending. Once upon a tail is formerly Dante’s Hope East. We are a foster based rescue located in St Tammany Parish in Louisiana. We rescue dogs from every imaginable situation. Some are strays fending for themselves, some injured with no one else to help them, some owner surrenders when they can no longer care for them, some from euthanasia lists before they are put down in kill shelters, and others who have been neglected and abused. We continue to ask you ,our community to join us to help save all of these dogs so we can find forever homes where they are loved and treated like a member of the family. We continue to advocate for animals and stay active in fighting for animal welfare in our parish until one day we reach the goal of making St Tammany parish the first no kill parish in our state. We will remain unafraid and unwavering in doing what it takes, meeting with parish officials, and educating the community to accomplish this. Our hearts break in a million pieces every time we take in the abused, neglected, injured, and thrown away dog and every time one by one they find their forever homes our hearts are made whole once again. It is only with community support, donations, and the amazing foster network that we can continue to be the voice and save so many.

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
