Adoption policy

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that promotes the highest standards of animal welfare, educates pet owners and prevents animal cruelty in the South Plains. The South Plains SPCA believes that adopting an animal is a forever decision that should not be taken lightly. \xa0We expect our adopters to be committed to loving our animals for the rest of their lives. \xa0 Adoption events are held every Saturday from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m at 8901 Highway 87, Building 119, Lubbock, TX. \xa0While not all of our animals come every weekend, our volunteers will be more than happy to talk to you about the animals you are interested in. \xa0You can also send an e-mail to adoptions.spspca@gmail.com regarding any of our animals that you are interested in making a forever member of your family. \xa0Meetings can be arranged outside of our Saturday adoption event, usually on Monday evenings. \xa0 We have an adoption application that must be filled our. \xa0Once the application is approved there is a $150.00 adoption fee that covers the dog/cat being spayed or neutered, current vaccinations, heartworm/tick screening, and microchipped. \xa0Indoor homes are preferred. \xa0 We are in constant need of volunteers and fosters as our animals are getting basic care and are often in need of a little extra tender loving care. \xa0We have several different sizes of dogs that need a home to live in until they can find a permanent, furever home. SPSPCA pays all medical costs. We ask that you provide love, food, transportation for your foster to\xa0medical appointments and adoptions that are held each Saturday in Lubbock at our facility on South US 87. The South Plains SPCA covers all medical care needed. \xa0 We are a close knit, supportive group that will welcome you. For information on fostering or volunteering e-mail\xa0adoptions.spspca@gmail.com, or come by and see us at an adoption event.
